This weeks new Game releases!

I won't lie to you, it's not a massive week for game releases, unless of course you're some weird Nintendo fanboy who just buys everything they can find that comes out on the Wii or DS.
So here's the rundown of this weeks releases:
First up - Art Academy: Learn painting and drawing techniques with step-by-step training.
Boy oh boy doesn't that sound enticing. So if you're sitting at home still wishing there was some way you could learn to draw and paint without ever actually picking up a genuine pencil or paintbrush, then your plight is over. Nintendo has finally created the solution to that age old desire of man. Virtual painting techniques.
It drops this friday and will most likely set you back more money than simply buying a pen and paper and figuring it out like everyone else.
Next out is The Sorcerer's Apprentice the game based on that Disney film starring Nicholas cage thats coming out the week after on the 13th.
You play as Dave, the sorcerers awkward teenage apprentice, who, and I quote "must master the elements of sorcery using magical attacks and spells to defeat the six evil sorcerers and their army of minions in order to free Manhattan"
So basically it's Harry Potter meets Spiderman, cast spells at bad guys in New York.
It's got a 6.4 critic rating on Gamespot, which interestingly it what the film got on IMDb.
And if those landfill fodder top quality games don't whet your appetite then there's The last Airbender also out this friday, which is coming out on the DS and the Wii. The Wii version seems to be a fairly generic movie game adaptation, and undoubtedly allows you to wave your nun-chucks round your front room and bend air, it's only been given a 6/10 rating on Gamespot, which already makes it better than the film version, which will apparently have Avatar - The Last Airbender comicbook fans organising a lynch mob for M Night Shyamalan.
The DS version looks a bit more promising with some more puzzle elements and fairly nice graphics, but it certainly isn't go to be a memorable or ground breaking game by any means, critics are giving it about 7.5/10 which isn't bad and will probably dispel your boredom more effectively than some pixelated drawing lessons
